Ugadi Habba 2012 (Nandana Naama Samvathsara) celebrations was on Sunday, April 1st 2012 at Mahatma Gandhi Center from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
A wonderful evening of entertainment and fun all around, presented by the evenigs MCs Hemanth and Sheetal!
Started with us remembering the "Karma Bhoomi" and "Naada Bhoomi", followed by a beautiful invocation. The kick-off was followed by the president's address, scretary's address, treasurer's report and the introduction of the new executive committee for 2012/2013. Congratulations to the new executive committee!
The little ones did show us that there is definitely strength in stikkiing together with a beatifu presentation of the "beTegaara mattu hakkigaLu" story in the skit titled "vaggaTTinalli balavide"!
"railu pravaasada kanasu" did show us the beauty of dreams, young or all grown. this was followed by a beatifu small skit called "lanchaavatHaara", which gave way of this "Mordern Ramayana" in politics to a very innovative skit by our "tween" gentelmen, presenting a mordern era version of our historic Ramayana.
This was very aptly introduced to the next skit by our young one - "tammana kanasu". The small intro skit "vayaskara sHaale", did tickle us, as well as reminding us of what we all know and the skit by the young ones showed - a dream is what we all hold onto!
"Indu baanigella Habba" - how true! It is always a celebration, and the next dance by our "tween" princesses was a treat that we can always remember!
The dance was a good prelude to the mail event of the evening, a "karaoke presentation"! A series of great songs presented! These were highlighted by a rendering of "apaara keertHi beLesi" by Arna, a heartwarming dance presentation by almost 30 children to "Hoove Hoove", and to top it all off, a stupendous dance performance by the ladies to "baaLa bangaara neenu"! We are all still at awe to the fun everyone had during this event, including the dances by all the kids and adults and of course, an impromptu dance choreography on the side by the ladies!
All in all, a wonderful evening!
P.S.: We did fall a little short on the catered food due to the overwhelming turnout!
